Black Prospective Students Look Into Their Post-Secondary Futures

Black Prospective Students Look
Into Their Post-Secondary Futures

The Office of Student Recruitment invited Black prospective students and their supporters to our second annual U of T Future Black Applicant Day on November 25th. They had the opportunity to find out about programs, hear from current students, and learn how to connect with Black community services and supports on our campuses.

We also held a brief program fair afterwards and following this, attendees were invited to attend a special St. George campus tour. The event was very well attended with roughly 130 prospective undergraduate students and their supporters in attendance. This more than doubled attendance from last year’s event! Students were from nearby GTA high schools and in grades 10 – 12.

Future Black Applicants Day was planned and executed by the Equity & Outreach team, led by Lydia Gill, Assistant Director, University Student Recruitment – Equity & Outreach, and supported by Leah Robertson, Recruitment Officer, Equity, Outreach and Support, and Jonathan Blaize, Student Recruitment Officer. Other U of T staff and students were in attendance to support this recruitment and outreach effort. Thank you to all involved with executing this successful event.
