Celebrating Black History Month
U of T’s Anti-Racism and Cultural Diversity Office (ARCDO) and Hart House will be hosting a film screening and discussion centered on Black women in leadership navigating institutional spaces and dealing with anti-Black racism. Lydia Gill Blackett, Assistant Director, University Student Recruitment – Equity & Outreach will be the emcee for this event, so go show some support in-person or virtually!

21st Annual Black History Month Luncheon
The annual Black History Month Luncheon provides another opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate Black excellence while enjoying engaging performances and delicious food. This year’s keynote speaker is Cameron Bailey, a notable Canadian who currently serves as CEO for the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival.

Moving the Needle: Women at the Forefront of Science
Established by the United Nations (UN), the annual International Day of Women and Girls in Science is observed on February 11 and dedicated to promoting gender equality in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), as well as the inclusion of more women and girls pursuing careers in these areas.
Celebrate International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2024 with a virtual panel hosted by Women’s College Hospital. From groundbreaking discoveries to heading top research institutes, these notable panelists exemplify women making innovative strides in science.

Wildfire Smoke and Public Health: Learn to live with a smoky reality with Dr. Angela Yao
2023 was a big year for wildfires, and they have become more frequent and intense in Canada as climate continues to change. Exposure to wildfire smoke can have a wide range of population health impacts. In this talk, Dr. Angela Yao will provide an overview of recent research into these health impacts and public health strategies for mitigating these effects.
