Mariana Mota Prado
As Vice-Provost, Strategic Enrolment Management, Professor Mariana Mota Prado works closely with academic divisions and other University partners to advance the University of Toronto’s strategic enrolment priorities. She provides leadership for the university’s tri-campus recruitment, admissions, registrarial and enrolment services, supporting an outstanding student experience from recruitment through graduation.
Professor Prado is a professor in the Faculty of Law and holds the William C. Graham Chair in International Law and Development. Prior to her appointment as Vice-Provost, Strategic Enrolment Management, she served as Associate Vice-President and Vice-Provost, International Student Experience, where she led initiatives to strengthen the experience and success of international students across the university. She previously served as Associate Dean, Graduate Programs in the Faculty of Law from 2014 to 2019.
An internationally recognized scholar, Professor Prado’s research focuses on law and development, corruption, and administrative law. She has authored and co-authored numerous books and scholarly publications. Her most recent book is a co-edited volume entitled Comparative Administrative Law: New Voices, New Perspectives (3rd edition, Edward Elgar, 2026).
Born and educated in Brazil (LL.B., University of Sao Paulo Law School) before completing her master’s (LL.M) and doctorate (J.S.D.) at Yale Law School, Professor Prado has taught and collaborated with leading law schools across Latin America, the United Kingdom and North America. Throughout her career, she has been committed to advancing international engagement and student success through teaching, research and academic leadership.
