The OSR team relaunched their annual International Counsellor Fly-In event, after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The team hosted nine counsellors plus their U of T India representative, Apratim Mukhopadhyay. The counsellors – from top schools in Brazil, India, Jordon, Mongolia, Türkiye, UAE, UK, USA, and Vietnam – arrived on Saturday, June 17 and jumped right into a full week of U of T programming and GTA activities. Three days were spent at U of T St. George, one at U of T Scarborough and another at U of T Mississauga, filled with campus and facilities tours, hands on learning (gaming activities at UTM!), mock lectures, information sessions, a President’s welcome reception, and most importantly they heard from our students. Counsellors also spent a day exploring the Niagara region and enjoying various dining experiences, from the UTSC World Cafe lunch to dinners in the Distillery District, the Annex, Eataly and a backyard BBQ. A big thank you goes out to our first entry divisions who provided amazing showcase experiences and delicious meals. Thank you also to IFP for hosting the Niagara experiences and arranging transportation, and thanks to all the student ambassadors and representatives who shared their stories. Finally, thank you to the OSR team who planned and executed the programming, including accompanying the counsellors to the activities, doing presentations, answering questions, and hosting in the evenings – especially Adam Lotesto, Recruitment Officer, who coordinated and managed this event from start to finish, all while serving as a gracious host!
